The past couple of weeks have been a crazy rollercoaster with our Grand Opening and ribbon cutting! We are so grateful to everyone who has come out to support South & Pine Home as a new business this first month open! The store is looking beautiful and we have been enjoying rearranging and decorating things as pieces are bought off the shelves!
With all the commotion, we’ve had tons of questions about home decor in the store (yay!) and one of the pieces that has created the most buzz have been our dough bowls! There have been some really awesome customers that have asked us how to put one together so we thought we’d share our favorite tips with you on how to add a finishing touch to such a great centerpiece! Here’s a closer look!
First, you’ll start off with your dough bowl. The shape and size can determine how many items you can fit into it. Most of our customers gravitate to the decorative balls when creating their dough bowl centerpiece, however, you can go a totally different direction and mix it up with some stems or even greenery! We have cotton, moss, metal, birch, and many more textured balls to stack for a variety!
Second, we like to tell our customers when they come in to the store to pick their favorite decorative ball, or what “ingredients” they would like to show off the most. Once you have that, you can kind of start building around it.
Add color! We love a good neutral gray or brown, but greenery or moss makes a great pop of something too! The best thing about these pieces are that you can customize it to look any way you want, and to reflect your own personal style. And we always love changing out our dough bowl contents with the seasons to keep things festive!
Take a look and let us know your tips and what you think! Or if you need inspiration and are in the area, stop by the store and we’ll be more than happy to help you put your very own dough bowl together!
